What is being done?
The government has set some ambitious targets in its Housing for All - a New Housing Plan for IrelandHousing for All
Housing for All is an ambitious goal to create 300,000 homes by 2030 and has four pathways to achieve this:-
Supporting home ownership and increasing affordability,

Eradicating homelessness, increasing social housing delivery and supporting social inclusion.

Increasing new housing supply.

Addressing vacancy and efficient use of existing stock.

Homelessness
According to the Homelessness figures for the first Quarter of 2022 released by the Department of Housing, Heritage and Local Government, there were 9,825 men, women and children were homeless in March, an increase of 333 (3.5%) on the February 2022 total.-
Single Adults 4,957 (71%),
-
1,238 families in emergency accommodation, and
-
2,811 children (under 18) associated with these families
